Established with the support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Ohio Afterschool Network is one of the 50 national afterschool networks dedicated to informing policy, developing partnerships, and shaping practices to sustain and increase the quality of afterschool programs nationwide.
OAN brings together providers, partner organizations, and allies to create a space where they can share knowledge, learn from one another, and collaborate. This convening power is invaluable for strengthening the field and fostering meaningful connections.
OAN is a Convener, a Connector, and a Collective Voice. United under the OAN banner, the out-of-school time field can make their collective needs and concerns heard. This amplifies the voice of the sector and helps drive positive change and progress.

The Ohio Afterschool Network convenes stakeholders to advocate for, support, and facilitate the development of quality, sustainable Out-of-School time programs for Ohio’s youth and teens.

National Afterschool Association
OAN is the Ohio Affiliate of the National Afterschool Association. NAA and its State Affiliates share a mutual purpose and agreement to support, develop, and advocate for Out-of-School Time professionals and the profession. NAA and its State Affiliates build connectivity among stakeholders and create opportunities for engagement to ensure a vibrant future for the Out-of-School Time profession.
Ohio Afterschool Network (OAN) is pleased to announce that its fiscal sponsorship transitioned from the PAST Foundation to the Ohio Children’s Alliance, effective October 1, 2026. This transition represents an important step in supporting the continued growth and sustainability of the Ohio Afterschool Network and its work to strengthen afterschool and out-of-school time opportunities for children, youth, families, and communities across Ohio.

As OAN’s new fiscal sponsor, the Ohio Children’s Alliance provides fiscal and administrative support while Ohio Afterschool Network continues to lead its mission, programs, partnerships, and statewide advocacy efforts. The Ohio Children’s Alliance is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the lives of Ohio’s children, youth, and families by supporting organizations and professionals that provide critical services and opportunities.
The transition is designed to ensure continuity for OAN’s partners, funders, members, and stakeholders. Ohio Afterschool Network remains committed to building a strong statewide network, elevating the value of afterschool and out-of-school time programs, and ensuring that Ohio’s young people have access to safe, enriching, and high-quality learning opportunities beyond the school day. OAN will continue to connect and support afterschool professionals, organizations, policymakers, funders, and community partners to advance the field and improve outcomes for young people across Ohio.
